So...I think I've been in the Merlin fandom too long. Or something. I'm 6k into my paperlegends entry (which is okay, I knew I wasn't going to make the first check-in with school and work this month), but now I'm stalled. My outline isn't *quite* complete, but it's close, and definitely enough to get down the first half of this thing. And yet...I just don't feel it anymore. Last time I tried to work on it I ended up writing a mini-essay on the theory and practice of runic magic for an entire page. So clearly just plowing through isn't going to cut it anymore. >.<
Somewhere along the way I lost the spark for these characters and their world, and I can't seem to get it back. I've been in and out of Merlin since season 2, so I suppose it's understandable that I would get tired of it. But PL was supposed to be my farewell to the show that's eaten so much of my life, that I've loved/hated for years and I really want to make it through.
So I guess this is a call for inspiration. Anyone feel like this sometimes? Do you have anything that you use to rekindle your love for the show? Favourite vids, gifs, essays, anything? (Not fics though, those only seem to make it worse.) Any help is greatly appreciated. :)
Aaah first non-fic post ever so scary...!

Title: Misdirection
Rating: G
Word Count: 2k
Warnings/Spoilers: None; S2, particularly 2x02, "The Once and Future Queen".
Pairings: Merlin/Arthur preslash, one-sided Arthur/Gwen, Gwen&Merlin friendship
Summary: In which Arthur's not quite as emotionally constipated at the end of 2x02 (or, arguably, is even more so), and Gwen heads him off at the pass with a nudge in the right direction.
( Gwen wonders who taught him to think that insolence and insults were signs of affection. (She doesn't have to think very hard.)Collapse )

Title: Double Displacement
Rating: PG
Word Count: ~2.5k
Warnings/Spoilers: None; first season-ish
Pairing: Merlin/Arthur, Gwen/Lancelot; hypothetical Gwen/Arthur
Summary: The day Uther dies, Arthur asks Guinevere to marry him.
Notes: Future!fic, AU after S1, Gwen POV. Morgana kills Uther, Merlin goes after her, and that's really all I know about that. Oh, and Arthur found out about the magic awhile back.
Written because I want to like Gwen again.

Title: Fermata
Rating: PG
Word Count: ~2k
Genre: Friendship, Pre-slash, Hurt/Comfort
Summary: Just a fluffy little fix-it fic based on House's lovely doomsday speech at the end of 7x01, "Now What".
AN: Still not happy with this, but I'm tired of staring at it so I might as well post it while it's still timely. First House fic, concrit much appreciated.

Title: Two
Rating: PG-13

Summary: After Fredo's death, Michael thinks he's alone. Tom Hagen/Michael Corleone subtext or gen friendship, varies with goggle usage. ;P

Warnings/Spoilers: Indirect spoilers for everything up to 5x07
Summary: Amy's future self pops by with a message, and ends up revealing a bit more than she'd meant to. Set sometime after 5x07.

Title: All is Semblative
Rating: PG-13
Genre: Slash, fluff-romance, genderbender
Word Count: ~11k
Warnings/Spoilers: First season, let's say
Summary: Cinderella, Merlin-style. Somehow, not AU, or crack (at least not completely). Uther throws three balls to find Arthur a wife, sort of. Merlin has some issues with this.
A/N: This got out of my hands quite badly. It was supposed to be a short, fun, pointless stress-reliever. It's still pointless, but it picked up delusions of realism, and is also eleven thousand words long. IDEK.
Title is from Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, where Duke Orsino says of Viola-as-Cesario that "all is semblative a woman's part."
Also available on one page at AO3.

Title: Precedent
Rating: G
Genre: Pre-slash, fluff
Word count: ~2k
Warnings/Spoilers: Spoilers up to and including 2x09, “The Lady of the Lake”
Summary: In which Merlin smiles more than he should, consorts are discussed, and Gaius isn’t crazy.
A/N: So I’m supposed to be working on my NaNo novel, but last night I stupidly watched 2x09 while procrastinating and not only did my squeeing get in the way of writing the 1,000 words I needed to get done, but it stuck this evil little plot bunny in my head which proceeded to make a nest and build this entire story completely without my consent. Oh, Merlin fandom, why must you be so awesome?
